My two daughters, partner and I went to Scotland for an adventure, and we had a wonderful one! Jeana and Dave, and the Lady M, were a big part of that. Jeana and Dave gave us an extraordinary welcome and that continued through the whole week; they did everything in their power to make sure we had what we needed.

I highly recommend everything they’re offering. They are open, fun people with big hearts, and we hope to see them again!

I really wanted a VW campervan to transport me on my wedding day but found there to be little availability of this service locally. I then came across Highland Hobo and I was delighted when they said they did wedding hire.
Jeana and team were really easy to deal with and very helpful. The driver arrived on the day and we had good fun on the journey to the venue. All the guests were able to sit inside the van and get their photos taken too.
I’d highly recommend speaking to Highland Hobo if you’re looking to add a vintage touch to your day where your guests can join in the fun too!

Had a fantastic couple of days/nights in Lady Marmalade and enjoyed the freedom of just stopping and setting up for the night – no campsite booking – just wherever. Jeana and Dave saw to it that we were well-equipped for every eventuality – and Lady Marmalade was well-stocked with all the utensils etc necessary for us to enjoy our on-the-road experience.

It was great to have other motorists (some in VW vans, but some not) acknowledge us with a wave and flashing lights – such a novelty. Getting to grips with the driving was initially a challenge but soon became second nature as almost forty years rolled away and we were back enjoying the feel of real basic driving, no power steering or flashy electronics – just us and the road!

We enjoyed driving up into the Highlands via the west coast then across the north and back down the east coast – and Lady Marmalade did us proud, taking every steep hill in her stride. This was a break with a difference for us – a wonderful treat to get back to how it was in the 70s – the simple pleasures of life. Jeana and Dave could not have been more helpful – with support, encouragement and friendliness on tap.

We spent the first four days of our honeymoon in Lady Marmalade, and had an absolutely wonderful time. She was brilliant to drive, totally beautiful, and equipped with everything you could possibly want: we had lots of delicious coffee made in the stove-top espresso machine!

The weather was mostly glorious, and we did some lovely big walks, as well as pootling around on our bicycles, relaxing on beautiful west-coast beaches and swimming in the sea! Jeana and Dave were incredibly kind, friendly and helpful and we would absolutely recommend a holiday in one of their beautiful vans!

I wished for something different to take me to my wedding, and Matilda proved to be just perfect!  Matilda certainly raised smiles amongst our envious guests, and added to our relaxed occasion.

Our thanks also to Dave who acted as chaffeur in a very professional manner, was very timeous, and most importantly helped to put us at ease as we travelled to and from the ceremony.

Thank you Matilda for adding to my big day in a special way!!

(PS Matilda also made the day for our aunt who helped establish the local VW agency in Elgin around 50 years ago, and was herself a former campervan owner. She loved being photographed with Matilda!!)

Just had to say how unforgettable our recent journey in Matilda was for so many reasons. A surprise 25th wedding anniversary present booked by Cathy that took my breath away.
Five days and nights spent meandering around Skye and the Western Isles in an iconic camper van are wonderful memories that will stay with us for ever.
We stopped wherever the views were spectacular and where there was no one else to spoil the experience.
Matilda was an adventure that never let us down and it was really sad when it was time to return her to her owners, however we will be back!
Thanks for letting us escape to the greatness that is Scotland.

Highland Hobo’s you have caused us so much pain! We are now spending all of our free time searching for our very own VW T2 Campervan. You’re going to cost us a fortune!
We had a two week holiday this year. Week one in Cyprus, week two in the company of Matilda travelling across to Ullapool, then working up the West Coast, all the way to Durness, where we ran out of land. It was a fantastic trip, so many happy memories, stunning photos, it constantly brings a smile to our faces. The second week’s holiday was much better than the first! Matilda never missed a beat on that trip. Great fun seeing such a beautiful part of our country at a gentle pace..
A great back to basics holiday. Jeana and Dave couldn’t be more helpful in the whole experience. The van was fully kitted out with everything we could possibly need. If we haven’t bought our own one soon, we will be back!

We loved every minute of our adventure with Matilda McWander.
Jeana and Dave are so friendly and go above and beyond to make this experience a great one. The cookies and the hot water bottle were two details that I appreciated so much! Jeana and Dave make sure that everything is just right before you hit the road. Dave took the time to take us on a test drive and Jeana made us coffee while we browsed possible itineraries on the map. They are very knowledgeable and know where all the best spots to camp are. Their dog Nuala is a doll and I wish we could have taken her with us on our road trip!
They were both very easy to contact by e-mail/phone.
This is not your average “rent a car” experience. FAR from it. Renting one of these vans to go explore Scotland is an unforgettable adventure. We got to live the hobo hippy dream for a couple of days thanks to you!

We had a fantastic time in the Highlands driving in Talullah-Pip. The interior has been beautifully refurbished and all fixtures and fittings co-ordinated right down to the free VW Campervan biscuits. Jena and Dave couldn’t have been more helpful and bent over backwards to help everything go smoothly. It would be difficult to imagine any other hire company going the extra mile as much as they did. Highly recommended and want to go back soon!.
